French skier Lucas Chanavat finished in second place the fourth stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup which took place in Italy this Saturday.
The one who attacked this Tour de Ski “with great enthusiasm” once again finished second after his podium already achieved in Davos (Switzerland) only a few days ago. He is beaten again by the untouchable Norwegian Johannes Klaebo, who dominates the discipline with no less than 80 successes in his career. Lucas Chanavat finished 42 seconds behind Klaebo. It is the Swiss Janik Riebli who closes the podium.
Chanavat, 30, reached the podium in an individual World Cup event for the 23rd time in his career.
Another Frenchman, Richard Jouve, took part in the final, but the double Olympic medalist, slowed down by a collision with an opponent, finished in 4th place.
The Tour de Ski includes seven stages until its arrival on January 5 in Val di Fiemme, still in Italy, where the cross-country skiing events of the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan Cortina will take place.
For his part, the other French finalist skier Richard Jouve, after a collision in the middle of the race with another competitor, managed to catch up but still missed the podium and finished the race in fourth place. The next deadline, still in Toblach, is this Sunday, early in the afternoon, for the classic 15 km for men and women.
