The Béziers criminal court sentenced a man to 18 months in prison this Thursday. The individual, aged 43, was therefore brought into immediate appearance. He was arrested on December 23, a few days before Christmas, after threatening his ex-partner in front of her home.
According to the press release from the public prosecutor, Raphaël Balland, the man presented himself at the home of his ex-partner to “uttering death threats and hitting a friend present on the spot.” Police officers from the Agde police station intervened quickly and arrested the individual in his vehicle.
For the prosecutor, these facts show “the seriousness of his behavior”. Indeed, death threats and violence against loved ones and the police are now taken very seriously.
