The major 2024 regional competition has been scheduled for this Friday, December 27 on France 3. This year's competition brings together ten choirs from ten regions of mainland France and overseas.
After folk dances and songs in recent years, The great regional competition returns with a new theme in 2024: regional choirs. For this major competition, scheduled on France 3 this Friday, December 27, Cyril Féraud is accompanied by a jury made up of four personalities proud of their roots and lovers of heritage: Vincent Niclo, Magali Ripoll, Laurent Luyat and Adeline Toniutti.
Ten choirs from ten regions of mainland France and overseas were selected to defend their colors on the stage of the Royal Palace, in Kirrwiller, in Alsace. More than 250 singers are taking part, with traditional costumes that will be a real eye-catcher as well as a treat for the ears. All styles are represented, from rock to disco, from gospel to lyrical or variety. France Télévisions presented each of the competitors a few days ago:
Aecor (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes)
This choir is made up entirely of medical students from Lyon, it is one of the rare choirs to be 100% a cappella.

Brittany Children's Choir (Brittany)
It has existed for over 40 years and is exclusively made up of children! It is also a former choirboy who saved it from disappearance a few years ago and who directs it today.

Leszczynski Choir (Grand Est)
The 20 singers of the Leszczynski Choir unite their voices for their specialty: great film scores.
- Title 1: “The mills of my heart” Michel Legrand

Salt and pepper (Hauts-de-France)
There is no age limit for this rock choir and going on stage! The Salt and Peppers are on average 73 years old!

Alexia and the CHAM choir of Henri-Dunant college (Ile-de-France)
They are from Meaux, and more precisely from Henri-Dunant college. Alexia, the music teacher at this college, created this choir for students from 6th to 3rd grade.

Choir of MEP, from Caen la Mer (Normandy)
Entirely feminine, a choir linked by a spirit of mutual aid, sisterhood and surpassing oneself!

Sing out (New Aquitaine)
Straight from Bordeaux, the Sing Out choir wants to show that Bordeaux culture is not limited to good wines and canelés

The Cri-choir a cappella (Occitanie)
It was in Toulouse that Le Cri-chœur a cappella was born. Inspired by this cosmopolitan city, this choir wants to bring together, open up, take people on a journey.
- Title 1: “Ksenitia tu erota” (Cyprus – composer Giorgios Kalogirou) and Makedonsko Devojtshe (traditional Macedonia – arrgt Bruno Coffineau)
- Title 2: “Gueroung'ner” (traditional Armenian) and Ning Wendete (traditional Kenian – arrgt William Powell)
Te reo dui (Tahiti)
This choir made the trip with its legendary mana to perform

- Titre 2 : “Stand by me” Ben E. King
Gospel rhapsody (Pays de la Loire)
They come from Nantes and they are all keen to use their voices to tell the story of gospel, carry strong messages and bring powerful songs to life.
- Titre 1 : “Oh Happy Day”
- Titre 2 : “All I want for Christmas is you” Mariah Carey
But which region will win the title of “best choir in France 2024”? The criteria for The great regional competition are based on singing, technique, precision, traditional costumes. The jury will pay attention to all aspects of the performance. Nothing will be left to chance.
After a first performance followed by a time of deliberation, seven finalists will be designated, then, at the end of a second round, the jury will designate the victorious troupe.
