A student of theUFA André Voisin from Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) completed as part of his school curriculum a rally car hood inspired by the A110 1800 Group 4 driven by Jean-Luc Thérier at San Remo in 1973.
It was offered to the municipality of Bullyin the Pays de Bray, where the racing driver resided for many years.
An Alpine and end-of-study hood
“This work was done as part of practical work and with a view to creating what until last year was called the end-of-study masterpiece. It was produced with the aim of exhibiting different car hoods as part of the Alpine 2023 saga,” explains Alexandre Leproust, coordinator and trainer of the UFA vehicle maintenance technical platform.
And it was then obvious for us to hand it over to the municipality of Bully.
It was therefore natural that a ceremony was organized in the presence of different associations: the EBA (Écurie brayonne automobile), the Dieppe Alpine Club and the Alpine Alumni Association.
A tribute to pilot Jean-Luc Thérier
The son of Jean-Luc Thérieralso present, was moved by this present to the village in which his father lived for many years. “It’s dad’s memory, it’s magnificent. It’s a great tribute and he would have been very proud. I know that the municipality will make good use of it,” declared Nicolas.
And the mayor, Christian Cossard, added:
He was an exceptional person, an extraordinary person who was always simple and friendly. We are honored to receive this gift.
A gift that is the work of Mathis Morelnow an employee at Alpine, under the guidance of his bodywork-painting teacher trainer, Mathieu Lasgy.
The assembly praised this magnificent work through this cover which will take place within the town hall, and therefore visible to as many people as possible.
