At this point, little about Nvidia's upcoming Blackwell GPUs remains a mystery, with recent leaks providing insight into the specs and official launch timeline for the new GeForce RTX 5000 series GPUs.
What we haven't heard much about in leaks and rumors is the price – until today, anyway. According to leaked information obtained by YouTuber Vex from an Australian hardware supplier, the Nvidia RTX 5080 will launch with an MSRP of over $1,500 (AUD$2,799, to be exact). Compared to the launch price of the GeForce RTX 4080 that preceded it, the RTX 5080 will see its price increase by $300.
So consumers can expect to pay upwards of $1,500 for the RTX 5080 when it launches, but there are some nuances to consider. For starters, none of the graphics cards listed on the pricing sheet sent to Vex by its source are first-hand Nvidia models, but the listed purchase price and MSRP are the same ~$1,587 and ~$1,746 across all cards. It is also unclear whether international shipping and import costs have been factored into the prices listed, but even accounting for the 10% import duty yields a final sale price of 1 US$586.
Prices in Australia do not appear to consistently represent Nvidia's retail prices worldwide. When the RTX 4080 launched, it was priced at 2,219 AUD (1,397.72 US$ in today's US dollars), almost $200 more than the launch price in the United States. This suggests that the price leak may not be representative of the final global or US sale price at all.
Either way, it looks like we should expect a minor price increase when the RTX 5080 launches this January at CES 2025.
