DAZN, the leading global sports streaming platform, will broadcast tonight at 6pm i The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024. The annual ceremony, which will be held in Doha, is now in its ninth edition and celebrates the best players and coaches of the season in different categories. Football fans will be able to follow the gala with commentary in Italian on DAZN, also available for free.
The gala will reward the best players, goalkeepers and coaches in the men’s and women’s categories, as well as recognizing the most spectacular goals with the FIFA Puskás Award (men’s) and FIFA Marta Award (women’s), as well as the FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award. The votes are decided by a jury made up of fans, national team coaches, journalists and team captains. The ceremony, which will take place during a gala dinner, will be chaired by Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA.
Italy will be represented by several prestigious candidates. For Serie A, Mike Maignan will compete for the title of best men’s goalkeeperwhile Federico Dimarco is in the running for the FIFA Puskás Award thanks to the goal he scored against Frosinone. Among women, the only Italian player nominated is Giuseppina Moraca, nominated for the FIFA Marta Award for her extraordinary goal against Bologna.
Also keeping the tricolor flag high Carlo Ancelottithe Real Madrid coach nominated for best coach of the year – together with Luis de la Fuente, Xavi Alonso and Pep Guardiola – and Gigi Donnarumma nominated for best goalkeeper
