Lando Norris offers the Constructors' title to McLaren! Thanks to his fourth victory of the season during the Abu Dhabi GP, the Briton allowed his team to win a ninth world crown in its Formula 1 history. The end of a 26-year drought for the English team, which finishes this 2024 championship with 666 points, compared to 652 for its main rival, Ferrari. The Scuderia will have given everything but, despite a double podium for Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, will have failed in its quest.
In addition to McLaren, Alpine emerged victorious in its duel against Haas for 6th place in the Constructors' championship. Thanks to Pierre Gasly's 7th place, ahead of Nico Hülkenberg, the French team managed to achieve a 6th place that was still unthinkable a few weeks ago. The arrowed A therefore ends the 2024 financial year in the same position as in 2023!
In the Drivers' championship, if the title was already acquired for Max Verstappen from Las Vegas, Lando Norris secured his 2nd place thanks to his victory in Abu Dhabi, and won the honorary title of 2024 world vice-champion ahead of Charles Leclerc. Only one change in the ranking: Pierre Gasly ends his season in 10th place in the Drivers' championship ahead of… Nico Hülkenberg!
