the essential
Mathias, 24, died on November 6 in a work accident in Saïx. He worked for a service provider on the A69 construction site. His mother has just filed a complaint against his employer for manslaughter.
“I won't give up. Ever.” Nelly is a devastated and angry mother. On November 6, his son, Mathias, 24, died in a work accident in Saïx, while unloading wood at a private home. And if the precise circumstances of the accident remain unclear, Nelly intends to fight so that all light is shed on the tragedy which disrupted the life of this peaceful family from Labastide-Rouairoux, this November 6 in the morning.
Complaint for manslaughter
The young man's mother and her lawyer, Maître Jean-Baptiste Alary, have just filed a complaint for involuntary manslaughter against the company which employed Mathias. The Albigensian lawyer is not angry: “Ms. Cajado went to the gendarmerie for the first time to file a complaint. I am scandalized that we dared to refuse her complaint for involuntary homicide and that we reclassify it as “discovery of a corpse “. A young man died at his workplace, I do not intend for this to be treated other than as an investigation into manslaughter!”

Back to the facts: Mathias Pravet, 24, was on November 6 at the home of individuals in the town of Saïx. This truck driver, employed for 4 months by a company working on the A69 motorway construction site, was unloading a load of wood from the construction site. Atosca explained it this way: “a part of the non-recoverable materials can be occasionally and free of charge given to local residents when they can be reused personally.” It was the occupants of the house who found the young man unconscious next to the truck, shot in the head.
Mathias had plans
His mother was devastated: “Mathias had lots of projects. He had just finished his trial period and started his permanent contract, he was gaining experience and ultimately wanted to create his small business in the Bouches du Rhône, from where we are natives.” He had a brother, a sister and two nephews. “He was very family-oriented,” says Nelly. “He played football, he liked video games… He was someone who was very surrounded by people.” She remembers that terrible day: “His usual boss, with whom he got along very good, wasn't there. It was the first time in his life that he unloaded wood, he was neither trained nor equipped, but Mathias never said no… His job was to do it! trips in his truck.”
Collapsed, but not resigned, Nelly Carjado, an educator in a children's home, is determined to do justice to her son. “I heard that he was in a hurry, that he made a mistake. There is no question of blaming him! Mathias didn't deserve that,” the mother says in a breath, shocked that the same day of the tragedy, “the construction continued, as if nothing had happened…”
