It’s a small scandal that is shaking up the Canadian city of Vancouver a few days before the first concert of 34-year-old American star Taylor Swift, who will perform there three evenings in a row, from next Friday to Sunday.
Indeed, on this occasion, parking prices literally exploded near the BC Place Stadium where the event will be held. Thus, indicates the Canadian press, several private car parks displayed a parking price of more than $150 Canadian for each concert evening (i.e. more than €101)! A boon for the brands of these car parks who know that even at these prohibitive prices they should fill up since no less than 300,000 people are expected in and around the stadium during the young woman’s three concerts.
Uber is also stuffing itself
The Uber platform has also decided to skyrocket its prices, with rates going from single to… quadruple to transport its customers on the three evenings that the artist will perform in Vancouver. As an example, indicates the Canadian press, a simple trip of just 1.3 km from the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center to BC Place, which usually costs 10 Canadian dollars, will be charged… $41 from next Friday to Sunday, or around €27.8!
