Uneasiness, discomfort, feeling of insecurity: the war in the Middle East would have undermined the social climate at Dawson and Vanier colleges in Montreal. Several reports to this effect have been made to the Ministry of Higher Education, according to its minister, Pascale Déry. At the microphone of All one morningthe latter explains that an administrative investigation was opened on the two campuses in order to restore calm and shed light on what is happening within the student community and faculty.
Pascal Déry underlines that students belonging to the Jewish and Muslim communities are called upon to rub shoulders in these two colleges.
« We know that the conflict in the Middle East is [un sujet] very sensitive. We know very well that the two communities, which are predominant on these campuses, have difficulty cohabiting. »
