Vietnam News Agency won 18 awards

Present at the award ceremony were Nguyên Trong Nghia, Chairman of the Party’s Central Awareness and Education Commission, Head of the Steering Committee for Overseas Information Work; Bùi Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and heads of ministries and branches.

This year’s edition attracted numerous participation from domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals. The participating works are not only diverse in genre but also rich in content, showcasing the image of Vietnam as a dynamic, integrated and resilient country.

The Awards Council awarded 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes and 49 encouragement prizes.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Nguyen Trong Nghia congratulated the award-winning authors and appreciated the positive contributions of the foreign information work in general and the foreign information journalist team in particular to strengthening the role of the country, its position and its prestige on the international scene.

More than 1,200 works in competition

The organizing committee received 1,289 works in 10 categories.

The themes of this year’s works/products continue to fully cover important political and cultural events and the country’s achievements in all fields; guidelines, Party and State policies, especially on current priority development issues such as science and technology, digital transformation, green economy and also the beauty of Vietnam and its people and its cultural values.

In addition to popular languages, new languages ​​such as Arabic, Italian and Israeli appeared in the categories of foreign print and electronic newspapers this year. Uzbek and Sinhalese languages ​​are included in the book category. This year’s award also recognizes the participation of overseas Vietnamese representative agencies and the overseas Vietnamese community.

Among the units participating in the award in the category of foreign language printed and electronic newspapers, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) remains the agency with the largest number of submitted works. The VNA won 18 prizes: two first prizes, four second prizes, six third prizes and six encouragement prizes.

Like previous seasons, this year’s award records the participation of many authors who are academics, researchers and journalists from foreign countries such as Cambodia, India, Russia, Mexico, Argentina, Laos and Taiwan (China). Well-known experts such as SD Pradhan (India) and Uch Leang (Cambodia) continue to submit numerous applications.

The television category recorded the participation of many local and central radio and television stations and the works of foreign authors which were broadcast on foreign television channels such as Pakistan World and Southeast Asia Today from Indonesia.
