After Vladimir Putin last summer, it is the turn of his new Defense Minister, Andreï Belooussov, to make the trip to Pyongyang. A step almost imposed by his function since the two countries signed a mutual defense treaty.

Arriving Friday, November 29 in the morning, the Russian official left the next day, the official Russian press agency tells us. Tass.

Andreï Belooussov notably visited the memorial in Mangyongdae, the birthplace of the founder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Il-sung, and laid a wreath at the monument to the Soviet army, which “liberated the Korean people from the Japanese imperialists”. He also attended a concert given in his honor, alongside the country's leader, Kim Jong-un, as shown in a video published on the Telegram account of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Still according to the Tass agency, Andrei Beloussov personally gave the North Korean “supreme leader” an invitation for his troops to march in Moscow during the May 9 parade, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the victory against Nazi Germany. But it is impossible to know what the two men said about the deployment of North Korean soldiers in Ukraine.
