She hadn't received so many congratulatory messages since the day she was released. Mia Schem, Franco-Israeli, emblematic figure of the hostages kidnapped by Hamas during the terrible October 7, 2023, released after 50 days of captivity, has officially announced her engagement. She used the Instagram platform last Thursday to announce the news to her 330,000 followers.

The 22-year-old young woman will therefore marry a certain Yinon Hasson, aged 24. According to the free news daily Israel Hayom, her future husband is a childhood friend of the young woman. They became a couple when she returned from captivity. He proposed to her last Thursday in Caesarea, a coastal city in the west of the country north of Tel Aviv.

Since her release, the Franco-Israeli has had the opportunity to speak in particular at the White House, in Congress and at the UN to alert people to the fate of the hostages and call on the world to act for their release.

The news was celebrated by thousands of people in the comments of Mia Schem's post. Among the surprises, a pizzeria offered free pizzas for her bachelorette party and the singer Mendel Wonder said he would sing at her wedding!

Mia was kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. She was released 50 days later, as part of a week-long truce in November of the same year, during which 105 women, children and some non-Israeli hostages were released.

Since her release, the former French hostage has spoken openly about the ordeals she suffered in captivity with Hamas. She recalled her poorly treated arm injuries as well as the acts of sexual harassment committed by her captors. A few weeks later, she had the ex-hostages' slogan of hope tattooed on her bruised body.

Speaking at the Israeli consulate in New York last month, the woman who emerged alive from Hamas' clutches revealed that she had been held in a cage for five days with five other young women she did not name, and who are still in captivity in Gaza.

Furthermore, the young woman recently signed a contract with an Israeli modeling agency and presented a line of wedding dresses for her first campaign, according to Hebrew media.
