farewell message, harassment… A week later, where is the investigation?

One week to the day after her disappearance, Morgane, 13, remains nowhere to be found. Nicolas Heitz, public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, held a press conference this Monday, December 2, to review the new elements surrounding the disappearance of the teenager.

The public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, Nicolas Heitz, held a press conference dedicated to the disappearance of Morgane this Monday, December 2. During this, the magistrate indicated that a farewell message was found in the young girl's basket. The latter had written there: “Dad, mom, sorry, I’m leaving.”

As the public prosecutor indicates, Morgane “had told a tennis teacher that she had been the victim of harassment last year”. Does the disappearance of the young girl have a link to this episode of harassment? Nothing is certain. Indeed, Nicolas Heitz declared that “all avenues have been explored” and that at this stage, “none has been ruled out”. Moreover, before her disappearance, the teenager “had posted a story on social networks saying that she was going to leave”.

Still during this same press conference, the magistrate announced that the flagrant investigation, opened a week ago following the disappearance of the 13-year-old girl, is reaching its 8th day.

As a result, and given the importance of the case, “a judicial investigation has been opened and the prosecution will refer the matter to an investigating judge to investigate the causes of Morgane's disappearance”, said the public prosecutor. .

In total, and since Morgane's disappearance last Monday, November 25, “more than 110 hearings have been carried out. His parents, Aurore and Yoann Rivoal, were interviewed several times. The disagreements with their daughter always originated around the use of Morgane's cell phone.

“All the tracking carried out led us to Guingamp”

Monday morning, “Morgane left her home at precisely 7:14 a.m. She didn't make it to her bus stop. The bus driver confirmed that he had waited a few moments for the 13-year-old girl, noted the public prosecutor.

In this case, a man was taken into custody. According to the magistrate, he held child pornography images but “none of Morgane”. Another man, aged 29, was linked to the minor on social networks. After his hearing, nothing relevant emerged.

To facilitate searches, an email address has been created. Therefore, anyone with information on Morgane is asked to contact the gendarmerie at the following address: [email protected].

As a reminder, numerous human and technical resources have been deployed by the gendarmerie soldiers under the direction of the Saint-Brieuc public prosecutor's office since Morgane's disappearance. These include police dogs, a drone and a helicopter.

“All the tracking carried out by the dogs led us to the Castel-Pic district, in Guingamp. Currently, a drone is still carrying out research in the most difficult to access places,” insisted the paracureur of the Republic of Saint-Brieuc.

Like every worrying disappearance, Morgane's entourage was heard. “It appears that this young girl had never run away until then and that a dispute arose with her parents during the weekend relating in particular to Morgane's use of social networks.

A heated discussion followed with her parents during which her father broke his daughter's cell phone and took her SIM card,” Nicolas Heitz had already indicated in a press release on Friday, November 29.

During the hearings, according to one of her friends, the young girl “was also able to indicate on social networks that she would not come to class on Monday,” explained the prosecutor.
