This Wednesday, November 27, the Disney film “Moana 2” is released in theaters. But who is Lin-Manuel Miranda, the songwriter behind the soundtrack of the first opus?
While “Moana 2” is released today in cinemas, spectators do not leave the screening delighted. The soundtrack of the second opus composed by Emily Bear and Abigail Barlow seems to leave the public wanting more, who does not find the magic of the songs in this new film. A dissatisfaction due to the absence of the songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda who had enjoyed great success by producing the Music for the first part. But who is this musician who made the Disney film famous when it was released in 2016?
Actor, songwriter, director and performer, Lin-Manuel Miranda has more than one string to his bow. Halfway between Broadway and Hollywood, the artist has established himself as one of the most important figures in musical film.
Lin-Manuel Miranda was born on January 16, 1980 in New York into a family of Puerto Rican origin. Music quickly played a predominant place in his life. Throughout his schooling, he directed and directed numerous musical comedies.
The artist has established himself as one of the leading composers of the musical comedy of the 21st century. In 2008, Broadway gave a triumphant reception to its first production “In the Heights”. He is then the creator of “Hamilton”, the cult show acclaimed by critics in 2015 and rewarded with a multitude of awards, including eleven Tony Awards in 2016.

Over the years, he became one of Disney's star composers. He notably participated in the development of the music for several feature films such as “Encanto: The Madrigal Family Fantastic”, “Moana: The Legend of the End of the World” and “The Little Mermaid”.
The seventh art also calls on him for his acting talents. In 2018, he starred opposite Emily Blunt in “Mary Poppins Returns” where he played the role of Jack. The actor also makes numerous appearances, for one episode, in cult series: “How I Met Your Mother”, “The Sopranos”, “Dr House”…
