The mysterious disappearance of Michèle Gaborieau
June 10, 1999 marked the beginning of an enigma that has haunted Céline Gaborieau ever since. Her mother, Michèle, then aged 56, disappeared without a trace, just like the white city vehicle she was driving. While the police initially considered a voluntary departure or an act of desperation, Céline remains convinced that the truth is much darker.
Over the years, the daughter of the missing woman led her own investigation, calling on private detectives to gather a wealth of clues and testimonies. Her investigations led her to a stunning conclusion: she suspects her own father, Jean-Michel, of being involved in her mother's disappearance.
The show will highlight the disturbing elements that led Céline to point the finger at her own father. Jean-Michel Gaborieau, a seemingly ordinary bookseller, happens to be the last person to see Michèle alive. On the fateful evening, the couple, then separated, shared a dinner in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. Michèle, still in love, hoped for a reconciliation despite the escapades of her husband, known for his penchant for alcohol, gambling and extra-marital affairs.
Céline Gaborieau agreed to share her poignant testimony in the hope that justice will re-examine the case. She will reveal her suspicions and the reasons which led her to believe in her father's guilt.
