The trial for suspicion of fictitious employment of European parliamentary assistants of the National Front ended on Wednesday 27 November. The court will deliver its judgment on March 31 at 10 a.m. hours, announced the president before adjourning the hearing. Marine Le Pen, to whom the president gave the floor one last time like the 24 other defendants, did not wish to say any final words on the stand. On the other hand, she spoke to the press after leaving the courtroom. “I always hope that we will be heard in the different arguments that we have deployed,” she declared, considering this trial as “a form of suffering”.

Reaction from Marine Le Pen

On November 13, the prosecution requested five years in prison against him, including two convertible farms, a fine of 300,000 euros and above all a sentence of ineligibility with provisional execution. The two prosecutors had, for almost ten hours, listed in turn the elements demonstrating, according to them, the strategy of“enrichment” of the National Front, which has since become the National Rally, “who financed with fictitious jobs”, “over more than ten years”, “its propaganda and its development to the tune of more than 4 million euros to the detriment of democratic life”.

“From the beginning, my client has not contested the reality of the facts, she simply says that the facts cannot be classified as criminal. The debate is that of the assessment of parliamentary practice, of knowing whether or not these funds are misappropriated of their use”pleaded, in response, Rodolphe Bosselut, Marine Le Pen's lawyer Wednesday afternoon. “The only repeat offense would be for Madame Le Pen to compete again in the presidential election. If that is the repeat offense you are aiming for then it makes sense, not legal but it makes sense, I propose to let the sovereign people s “responsible for it and not for the justice that is done in his name”he also declared.
