Laurent Moreau, who is part of the organizing committee of the Course des deux viaducs, prefers to announce the color: “ Those who wish to participate have every interest in registering quickly, because we already have 250 competitors and we have to block it at 500 for security reasons…” This event, the flagship of Blanc Athlétisme and which succeeded the famous Foulées Blancoises, has existed for around fifteen years now. The organizers have found a reference route which, undeniably, is unanimously unanimous among the runners because “he’s descending!” So the participants always do very good times, and that explains its popularity. For our part, we don't change a winning team, and if this route pleases us, we won't deprive ourselves of it. »
A Pouligny Saint-Pierre as a gift
The route, which passes through the greenway, and therefore over the city's two viaducts, was until now qualifying for the French championships, but this will not be the case this year, specifies Laurent Moreau: “The federation has modified its regulations and our course is no longer eligible for qualification, because of what makes it successful: the fact that it is downhill. »
But this, as we see, does not prevent competitors from wanting to measure themselves against it. For their respective times, probably, but also certainly for the good atmosphere that reigns there. Proof if any were needed of the conviviality of the organization, the start of which will be given at 10 a.m., with musical entertainment planned on the route, children's races organized from 11 a.m., and goat's cheese offered to all registered! “A Pouligny-Saint-Pierre is indeed given to everyone. They are local, arriving from the Cabrioles farm, the Âges farm and the Beauregard goat farm. » An additional element of persuasion, and not the least, for hesitant runners. For the latter, and those who do not know the route, a training outing, open to all, is organized on Sunday 1is December, at 10 a.m., departing from the Ménigouttes stadium, in Le Blanc.
For your information, the course record is held by Yoan Kowal in 28'39, followed by Mohammed Benyettou, in 28'41 and a memorable sprint between the two men, in 2021. The women's record is held by Sara Benfares in 32'41 , still in 2021. So, will we see you on December 15?
