The park of Flers castle (Orne) will be closed this week. This is what the city of Flers announced in a press release this Monday, November 25, 2024.

Branches ready to fall

Indeed, following the heavy snowfall in Flers and its region on November 21 and 22, 2024, many branches fell in the castle park. Several half-broken branches remain hanging in the trees. The ground is littered with leaves and wood.

To make this decision, the city of Flers relied on theexample of the ONF (National Forestry Office).

Green spaces secure places

After a heavy snowfall, tree branches are significantly weighed down. The risks of falling trees and branches are real, especially if they have been previously weakened by other phenomena.

This is why access to the park is closed for safety until Friday November 29, 2024, while the Green Spaces department cleans the park this week.
