Last, the Semurois came back by entering the Dijon floor. And it was seen (2-7, 9e ). “The state of mind of the players was rather good in the locker room, but we took 5-1, I don't think anyone expected that and then, it went a bit downhill,” sums up Vincent Liot, the DMH coach.
His players, however, managed to get back together, with a lightning counter-attack and a kung-fu between Jourdin and Fallot (12-12, 19e ). Trailing by two goals and inferior, HBC Semur nevertheless returned to contact (17-17, 30e ). Blaise (11/15 on shots) thinks he will give his team an advantage (25-23, 42e ). This is without taking into account the rage of the Semurois, boosted by Parville's saves, and who finish the job in the opponent's empty cage (26-29, 51e ; 27-33, 55e ; 34-36, 60e ).
Dijon defense at half mast
“We were in difficulty defending on the pivot. We tried 1-5, strict…”, says Vincent Liot. “We came up against a team that needed points and they put up a much bigger fight than us. The desire made all the difference. »
“We’re going to breathe a little better”
In tough conditions since the start of the season, the Semurois were able to celebrate the victory with their supporters. “We are very proud of the state of mind displayed,” smiled Antoine Marion, HBCS technician. “That was already the case until then, but this time we didn't have many weak times, and we were able to hold our own in Dijon, which was nevertheless on a good run. » And his partner on the bench, Grigory Blagonadezhdin, added: “We had injuries and we are still looking for ourselves in the game, but we showed our character. We'll breathe a little better. »
This second success allows them to leave last place. “We are far away in the rankings, we have to remain modest and continue to work, hoping to have other days like this. A small series of victories would do us good,” adds Antoine Marion. “We already had a difficult last season, but we wanted to keep the same players. We have a young squad, attentive, which is progressing in particular defensively. Hoping it continues. »
For its part, the DMH reserve saw its last hopes of a comeback disappear with, already, a fifth setback on the clock. “Go get number 2e place was still playable, but we no longer had any margin for error. There, it’s dead,” notes Vincent Liot.
