The “Prudent City” label highlights municipalities that are good students in terms of prevention and road safety. In Finistère, several municipalities have already obtained it, including Pluguffan and Plomelin. Quimper could be interested in it.

This is obviously one of the discoveries of the 2e Local security conference that the City of Quimper (Finistère) organized on Saturday November 23, 2024. Neighboring municipalities – from Quimper Western Brittany itself – have the label “cautious city”. The one “rewards exemplary municipalities in terms of road safety and prevention”we can read on its website.
Plomelin was actually awarded this label in 2021, Pluguffan got it in 2022… the year when Ile-Tudy – which is not that far away either – got it too. Will Quimper have it in turn? This label, in any case, aroused the interest of Isabelle Assih, the mayor of Quimper. The elected official also says she is up for working on “a code of the street”which would identify good practices and possible sanctions for properly sharing public space.
