Died in 2007 from cystic fibrosis, Grégory Lemarchal still remains in the thoughts of the various students of the Star Academy. The members of the promotion paid him a vibrant tribute by covering a song that Grégory Lemarchal had written but which had never been released publicly.

This Saturday, November 23, the students of the last class of Star Academy paid a vibrant tribute to a former student, Grégory Lemarchal, who died in 2007 from cystic fibrosis. The latter had left notebooks with his parents, Pierre and Laurence, in which he had written several songs.

In an interview with Galahis mother explains “We made an initial selection, we gave them several texts that spoke to us and they chose one. But we didn’t give everything.” Among these songs, And if you feel, which was chosen by the production to be performed by the students of the show.

“We wanted something universal”

The tribute was broadcast last night by TF1. We can thus see the students, interpreting the song with a background of Grégory Lemarchal’s eyes with a message “We don’t forget you”. “We are both moved that Grégory’s words can be put to music, but also touched that this song will be taken up by a new generation.” his mother testified to Galaa month before the song was revealed.

“It’s a text that certainly spoke to Grégory, but these are words that can speak to everyone. We wanted something universal” explains Laurence Lemarchal. During the show, it was Lucie Bernardoni, finalist against Grégory Lemarchal in 2004, and Quentin Mosimann, also from the 2004 class, who revealed the song to the students, explaining that the singer had written the music in the hospital, less than a month before his death. The profits from the song will be donated to the association to fight cystic fibrosis created in his memory.
