The firefighters found, Saturday November 23, 2024, at the beginning of the afternoon, the body of a person in the rubble of a house in Carrouges (Orne).

A major fire broke out the day before, shortly before 3 p.m., in this residential house located at no. 9 rue du Docteur Louis-Tremblin, in the town of the commune.

The identity of the victim has yet to be confirmed

This discovery “confirms the death of a personwithout being able, for the moment, to formally identify it, specifies the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 61).

L’identity of the victim there is, however, little doubt.

The father had not left the house

According to our information, the two occupants, a man around 60 years old and his son around 30 years oldhad been alerted by a neighbor who had noticed smoke coming from the roof of the house.

The two men then entered the building, but only the thirty-year-old managed to come out.

Hurtthe latter was transported to La Ferté-Macé hospital.

His father, Didier Bourgerie, was not found Since.

Delicate intervention

Significant resources were deployed to extinguish the fire and try to rescue the victim: 52 firefighters were on site at the height of the intervention.

Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control at the end of the day, but their delicate search for the missing person remained in vain.

It took several hours to clear just 5 m².

Suspended during the night, the searches had resumed from 8 a.m. this Saturday morning. They culminated in the discovery of the body, around 1 p.m.

L’analysis of readings carried out by the gendarmes on site must confirm that it is indeed Didier Bourgerie.
