More than 4,000 men and women are candidates throughout France for these legislative elections, which represents an average of 7 candidates per constituency. In the 2012 legislative elections, there were an average of a dozen candidates per constituency.

577 deputies to be elected

577 deputies are to be elected; this Sunday, June 30, on the occasion of the first round of the legislative elections: 539 in mainland France, 27 for overseas territories and 11 for French people abroad. Deputies can be elected this evening under two conditions: having gathered more than 50% of the votes cast and at least 25% of registered voters. In the vast majority of cases, a second round will be mandatory. It will be organized on Sunday July 7. The composition of the National Assembly will be known at that time. From this majority political color will derive the name of the future Prime Minister.
