Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s condolences following the death of Princess Lalla Latifa

Death this Saturday of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Latifa, wife of the late King Hassan II of Morocco and mother of King Mohammed VI. Sad news confirmed by an official press release from the Royal Palace. Throughout the world, messages of condolences and support have reached the King of Morocco, particularly touched by this sad event.

The President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, is one of the personalities who spontaneously expressed their solidarity with King Mohammed VI. “It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Her Royal Highness, Princess Lalla Latifa of the Kingdom of Morocco. On behalf of the Senegalese people and in my own name, I extend to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the royal family and the brotherly Moroccan people, our heartfelt condolences.”he wrote in a post relayed on his digital channels.

Lalla Latifa was the second wife of King Hassan II. Mother of five children (Princess Lalla Meryem, the current King of Morocco Mohammed VI, Princess Lalla Asma, Princess Lalla Hasna and Prince Moulay Rachid), she died at the age of 78.
