Germany and Denmark faced each other this Saturday evening at Signal Iduna Park (from 9 p.m. French time). After 35 minutes of play, the game was stopped due to a heavy storm. The score was then still zero everywhere. An interruption which had been anticipated by the organizers, so as to avoid any panic and manage the situation as best as possible.
Thunder and lightning fell on the Dortmund stadium and it was decided to prioritize the safety of the actors and supporters. The latter did not desert the place however. Some of them remained in the hail, singing.
Germany – Denmark postponed until Sunday?
The match may not resume this Saturday as the weather does not improve. Torrential rains are falling on the enclosure and there are no signs of improvement. No risks will be taken.
This is not the 1e time a European Championship match has been stopped due to a heavy storm. This had already happened in 2012 in Donetsk during the France-Ukraine match. However, the interruption did not exceed one hour.
