Breton Solidarity Day in Callac: the new PLB Muco has won over [En images]

Saturday June 29, 2,000 athletes (cyclists, hikers, joggers, children of the color run) took part in the first Breton Solidarity Day, which replaces the Rando Muco and the PLB Muco. Smiles were on everyone’s faces. Particularly those of Rosy, 32 years old, and Patrick, 30 years old. Both are researchers in the Brest laboratory created by Professor Claude Férec, and work on cystic fibrosis with the Gaëtan-Saleün association. “We participated, me by running 12 km, and my partner Rosy by taking part in the 4 km hike. We had to give our breath for this day of solidarity in 2024.” Their observation: “Beautiful landscapes crossed, welcoming refreshments with a great atmosphere and unparalleled organization”.

René, who came from Loudéac by bike

René Fercoq came from Loudéac by bike. He knows the region well since he is originally from Calanhel and his in-laws are from Carnoët. He has participated in the PLB since its creation and he wanted to participate in this new edition, “even if I preferred the old formula. I didn’t want it to end.” Setting off from the cool of Loudéac, he completed the 80 km in 3 hours 10 minutes with three friends, while six other people accompanied them by car.

Henriette and Patrick come from Briec-de-l’Odet, near Quimper. Patrick participated fifteen times in the old formula PLB. This time, the couple came to simply walk and enjoy the scenery. No registration for hikes, just the pleasure of participating, making a donation and attending the various concerts. “We are concerned with cystic fibrosis. My wife’s nephew has had the disease since birth. Now 22 years old, he is doing much better since the discovery of new treatments. He obtained his baccalaureate and plans to take a position in the municipal police. »

“95% chance we’ll come back”

Catherine and Yves, from Carantec (29), were taking part in the PLB for the first time. They are regulars at solidarity events, particularly the Rose Espoir in Ploumagoar. They found in Callac a very well-secured course, well-organised events, a very good atmosphere and a very warm welcome. “There is a 95% chance that we will come back next year if the same date is kept. We are very happy with our day. Congratulations to the entire PLB team.”
