The investigation into the murder of Bilal, 21, killed on the afternoon of Monday, June 3, 2024 in Saumur (Maine-et-Loire), continues. On Tuesday, June 25, two people were arrested in the Tours area (Indre-et-Loire) by investigators from the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police (DIPN) of Angers: a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, “searched from the beginning as possible suspects of the shooter and the woman driving the vehicle”indicates public prosecutor Éric Bouillard in a press release.
Both were brought before an investigating judge on Friday, June 28, 2024. The accused, suspected of being the author of the shots, admitted to being the perpetrator of the acts. “He was charged with murder, attempted murder, unauthorized acquisition and transportation of a category B weapon,” indicates the prosecution.

Placed in pre-trial detention
For her part, the young woman, suspected of being the driver of the vehicle, “admitted to having assisted the shooter during his escape”. “She was indicted on charges of complicity in assassination, complicity in attempted assassinations, unauthorized transport of a category B weapon and evading arrest or investigation of a criminal,” specifies the public prosecutor.
Both have just been placed in pre-trial detention. “The investigation is continuing as part of the judicial inquiry to clarify the circumstances of the facts,” concludes the Angers public prosecutor’s office.
