Although the snow amazes many French people, it has nevertheless caused disruptions to road traffic. Bison Futé informed at 10 a.m. that traffic was “very delicate” among others on the A84 (departments 14, 50), N12 (61, 53, 35, 22), the N176 (22, 35, 50), the A28 (27, 61), the Caen ring road and the N158 (14 and 61).
A snow removal operation is also “in progress” on the A11 in the Chartres and Le Mans sectors, warns Vinci Autoroutes.
On track, SNCF Réseau estimated Thursday morning that “the point of vigilance is the new Aquitaine where several lines are interrupted as a precaution in the Bordeaux region due to violent winds”. According to West France, rail traffic is interrupted between Le Mans and Laval.
From 11 a.m., the circulation of trucks over 7.5 tonnes is restricted, with a speed reduced by 20 km/h and without being able to overtake anywhere in Calvados, Côtes-d'Armor, Ille-et -Vilaine, Manche, Morbihan, Orne and Sarthe, Cher, Eure, Eure-et-Loir, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, as well as in Île-de-France on the major routes.
School transport is suspended on Thursday in Orne, Manche, Calvados, Eure and Eure-et-Loir.
