It’s been a few years now since gamers first dabbled in the world of Vampire Survivors… but at least not on PlayStation. We do have some news about the planned port, though.

For the vampire and for the best

Vampires and video games are a love story that lasts and that has not finished offering fun stories and concepts. We can obviously mention Castlevania, the entire Vampire: The Masquerade saga, the cult Legacy of Kain, the V Rising phenomenon or even Dontnod’s RPG Vampyr. There are a lot of titles in the theme that are frankly memorable.

We can also cite Vampire Survivors, an independent software developed by Luca Galante (a developer in his own right, yes) which quickly won over the Steam audience with its concept halfway between roguelike and incremental. Awarded for the ingenuity of its game design and even winning the Best Game award at the BAFTA Games Awards. Just that !

A portage that survives

Offered in early access on PC and Mac in 2021, the game will be released in its final version on October 20, 2022. A few days later, in November, it is the Xbox One and Xbox Series that will welcome Vampire Survivors. Then finally come the Android and iOS platforms, in December of the same year. And yes, indeed, PlayStation is still missing from the equation.

In fact, a PS5 and PS4 port was already announced a while ago and today, as players are starting to get impatient, the official X account of the game allows itself a small update:

We still don’t have a release date to share, but we wanted to let you know why. This is the first time we’ve gone through the validation process on PlayStation, so it’s taking a little longer than usual.

We are also testing trophies to make sure they can be unlocked properly.

BUT we will let you know as soon as possible a release date, as soon as it is set!

No worries, then: Vampire Survivors should soon arrive on PlayStation and the port even seems more or less finished. Incidentally, let’s remember that a DLC in collaboration with the Contra saga was released very recently, in May.
