Georges Mikautadze, top scorer of Euro 2024 with three goals in three games, is turning heads. His recent performances with Georgia are hastening the progress of his transfer file, with each club wanting to anticipate the move and beat the competition which is likely to be tough. But according to information from journalist Fabrizio Romano, AS Monaco has already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with the 23-year-old player. On the Rock, we are therefore moving on to the second stage, that is to say the negotiations with FC Metz, who will exercise the purchase option. In order to conclude an agreement before the end of the Euro, Monaco would have sent a first proposal to the Grenat board, the amount of which has not been revealed.
This is the opportunity or never for the Croix de Lorraine club to be tough in business. If the sum of €20M had once been mentioned, it could well be revised upwards, even more so if Willy Sagnol’s men continue their epic after the round of 16. However, one thing is certain: it will be a record transfer for Metz.
