In September, the number of deaths and fatal accidents is on the rise. The rest of the indicators are on the decline
summarizes the Departmental Road Safety Observatory, in its latest bulletin posted online. Ten accidents were recorded on the roads of Deux-Sèvres in September 2024, two fewer than a year earlier.
Young people and over 65s most exposed
On the other hand, two deaths are to be deplored while none had occurred in September 2023. The number of injured, 10 instead of 25, is down sharply in September 2024. The age groups of victims which are clearly the most represented are 18-24 years old and those over 65 years old. Users of motorized two-wheelers and light and utility vehicles represent the greatest number of victims
notes this study.
Between the beginning of January and the end of September 2024, 16 people lost their lives in a traffic accident in Deux-Sèvres. This is one less death compared to the previous year. All the indicators were also on the decline over these first nine months of the year, even if the drop in the number of fatal accidents and the number of deaths remains low
