Joëlle and Roland Laperne celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. On this occasion, and to properly celebrate this milestone of the 50th anniversary of their union, the couple invited family and close friends to share with them a warm and friendly moment at the del Nono restaurant, in Asasp-Arros.
It was with great emotion that Roland Laperne welcomed his guests, declaring: “Today we are celebrating fifty years of an extraordinary adventure. Fifty years of marriage represents a lifetime, filled with precious memories. But if, on this day, we celebrate the past, we also look forward to a future that we want to build together. »
Immediate love at first sight
How far the jubilarian couple have come in half a century! It was at the beginning of the 70s that Roland, originally from Asasp-Arros, met Joëlle, originally from Buzy. It's love at first sight and the two lovebirds quickly decide to unite their destinies. The civil marriage was celebrated on October 13, 1974, in front of Henri Navailles, mayor of the village of Asasp-Arros, followed by a religious ceremony which took place in the church of Sarrance.
From their union two children were born, David then Marie-Laure, who each gave two grandchildren to the couple of grandparents, Paul and Charline for the first, Manon and Rémy for the second.
Mayor since 2020
A trained turner-miller, Roland Laperne took an interest in the life of his village very early on. Elected municipal councilor in 2001, he became 1st deputy in 2008, a position he held until 2020, working alongside André Minjuzan first, then Bernard Mora.
Having received the most votes during the last municipal elections of 2020, he has assumed the responsibilities of mayor since that date. An intense political activity and commitment that he reconciles as much as possible with the pleasures and sweetness of his family life.
