It was the account “SwordofSalomon” (the sword of Solomon) which spotted and relayed the information on the social network Meyer Habib is presented as a tentacled creature finished off by Rima Hassan, a secondary candidate in these elections yet portrayed in a disproportionate manner,” warns the Internet user, specialized in denouncing anti-Semitic violence. “Why “the stone oven”? » asks the account.

The video, republished by Sébastien Delogu on his Instagram account on Wednesday June 26, diverts a combat cutscene from the popular video game League of Legends. The faces of several political figures are embedded in place of those of the warriors on screen. Thus, we see Manon Aubry then Rima Hassan, both LFI MEPs, attacking the outgoing Republican (LR) deputy Meyer Habib. Candidate for re-election, the elected representative represents French people established in several foreign countries, including Israel. Following the incident caused by Sébastien Delogu at the end of May, Meyer Habib had a violent argument with Insoumis and his colleague from the North, David Guiraud.

If Meyer Habib presents himself in the election on June 30 and July 7, the presence of Manon Aubry and Rima Hassan, absent from the election, raises questions. LFI’s campaign in the European elections focused on denouncing Israel’s attitude in the war in Gaza, all against a backdrop of accusations of anti-Semitism. Above all, it is the use of a pizza cooked in a “stone oven” which scandalizes certain Internet users, who see it as a reference to the crematorium ovens in which millions of Jews perished during the Shoah.

Crematorium ovens or union of the left?

Questioned by France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Sébastien Delogu said he did not understand “why people are panicking”. “I post videos to feed social networks. People are always making a fuss,” he regrets. Although he is not the author of the video montage, Sébastien Delogu believes that this pizza refers to those “brought during the negotiations of the union of the left”. This fact had actually been reported by Releaseand widely distributed on social networks.

Declaring to France 3 that he wanted to “avoid any confusion”, Sébastien Delogu finally removed the video from his social networks during the day of Wednesday June 26. In the meantime, he had shared another version, where the “stone oven” pizza had been replaced by a “kebab pizza”…
