Three artistic installations in Quebec are nominated for the international CODAaward. This rewards works of art commissioned from an artist or a team to be exhibited in a public, interior or architectural space.

One of the art installations, named Horizon, had been deployed to Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, in Montérégie. Created by Olivier Landreville, in collaboration with Serge Maheu, it was made up of egg-shaped modules. These were equipped with rocking chairs used for observing the roof, where a starry sky, a flock of birds or a canopy were lit up.

On the ramparts of the Royal Battery, in Quebec, we found Life Jackets by the famous Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. The latter designed this installation from thousands of life jackets that belonged to Syrian refugees. The work was produced in collaboration with the EXMURO organization.

As for the artistic installation at Montréal, Creative Hub, it was designed by Moment Factory, in collaboration with the architecture firm Gensler. The work mixes sound and light, in addition to allowing visitors to admire a giant digital screen where images of the city’s urban parks are projected.

The public has until July 2 to vote online for the work of art they would like to see crowned the winner.
