Liège: four questions on the fatal fire at the Kennedy Tower

For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, a fire broke out on Monday around 2 p.m. in the Kennedy residence, on the banks of the Meuse in Liège. One person died, four others were hospitalized, including three in intensive care.

HASnnelies Verlinden, the Minister of the Interior, is expected in Liège around 12:15 p.m. Nearly 250 people were evacuated from the building, the City’s priority is now to rehouse them.

What is the Kennedy Tower?

Built in 1970, 85 meters high, the Kennedy residence was, until the inauguration of the Atlas Tower (87 meters) in 1978 in the Droixhe district, the tallest building in Liège. It is made up of apartments spread over 27 floors and in which 252 people live.
