Roxane Léchenet, 12, won the youth encouragement prize in the La Trinité-sur-Mer literary competition with her short story “An Olympic village at risk!” “. We met her.
How did you decide to participate in the literary competition?
I do theater in Camille Génie's workshop and we write the text of the play that we perform at the end of the year. Camille therefore suggested that we participate in this competition. And there were four of us who did it. Léa, Cléa and Élisa decided to participate in a group as also proposed in the rules and I participated alone.
Your short story is called La Trinité: an Olympic village at risk! What is she talking about?
As we are writing a play which is a police investigation, I decided to also write an investigation. And the imposed theme was: “La Trinité-sur-Mer, Olympic village, an adventure to write”. Then I chose elements from here: dolmens, white water swimming, Breton surnames…
How do you feel about being the winner of the competition?
I'm so happy that I took a lot of time to write this text. It was really difficult but nice, I'll do it again. And I was able to read my text to the students in the theater workshop. Camille went to the awards ceremony and the jury told her that my text and that of the group Léa, Cléa et Élisa were dynamic and fluid. It's true that we are used to thinking about characters through theater.
