For this Monday, June 24, 2024, heating oil is displayed at the price of 0.9292 euros per liter for any purchase equal to or greater than 2,000 liters, according to the specialized site mazoutonline.be. For purchases of less than 2,000 liters, the price displayed is 0.9684 euros per liter. Compared to the rates recorded in previous weeks, those in force this Monday are significantly higher.

The new prices for heating oil?

And this upward trend will continue, because the FPS Economy has just announced a further increase in heating oil prices from Tuesday June 25. From this date, you will now have to pay 0,9701 euro per liter for an order whose quantity is less than 2,000 liters, which represents an increase of 0,0017 euro per liter.

For orders equal to or greater than 2,000 liters of heating oil, the price will now be 0,9309 euro per liter from Tuesday. Here too, the increase is 0.0017 euros per liter. In less than two months, heating oil prices have increased by approximately 5 euro cents. For heating oil (H0/H7), increases similar to fuel oil will also be applied. As a reminder, since the elimination of classic 50S fuel oil, the new reference product is heating diesel (H0/H7).

What is causing this increase in heating oil prices?

From Tuesday, heating oil will therefore record a new increase in prices, this being essentially due to a single factor: the increase in the price of black gold. Indeed, oil prices directly influence those of gasoline, diesel and heating oil in Belgium. And for several days, the prices of black gold have started to rise again.

For this Monday, June 24, a barrel of Brent from the North Sea is priced at $84.59. For comparison, this same barrel was sold at $77 on June 4. Regarding its American equivalent West Texas Intermediate (WTI), it is priced at $80.95 per barrel, which represents an increase of almost $8 compared to the prices observed during the first week of the month. of June.
