Diourbel, June 28 (APS) – The prices of foodstuffs and cement revised downwards were determined Friday in Diourbel (center) during the meeting of the regional consumer council (CRC) chaired by the governor of the region.
According to the head of the regional trade service of Diourbel, Abdoulaye Dieng, this meeting aimed to fix the prices of foodstuffs and cement at the regional level by integrating the transport differential.
It was indicated at the end of the meeting that the 20 litre can of refined palm oil will be sold at 19,140 CFA francs and the litre at 1,010 CFA francs.
The bag of wheat baker’s flour is set at 15,550 CFA francs compared to 16,050 CFA francs for the bag of improved baker’s flour.
The price of a 50-kilogram bag of ordinary broken rice is set at 19,600 CFA francs, or 420 CFA francs per kilogram.
Concerning granulated sugar, the 50 kilogram bag is fixed at 29,200 CFA francs at semi-wholesalers, the kilogram being sold at 610 CFA francs.
For bread, the standard format will be sold at 160 CFA francs.
As for cement, the ton is fixed at 75 thousand CFA francs, or 3750 CFA francs per 50 kg bag.
The head of the Diourbel regional trade department announced that his teams will display the fixed price ceilings and raise awareness among consumers and traders for correct application of the measures.
The Commissioner for Economic Investigations, Abdoulaye Dieng, invited traders to display the new prices approved in accordance with economic legislation, recalling that the new prices are applicable at the end of the meeting of the regional consumption council.
The regional governor, Ibrahima Fall, called on all stakeholders, particularly traders, to demonstrate citizenship and patriotism by correctly applying the new fixed prices.
He also asked the services concerned to ensure the rigorous application of these prices in accordance with the wishes of the authorities to relieve households.
