Kédougou, June 28 (APS) – The regional consumer council (CRC) adopted, on Friday, the new prices of certain consumer products and cement.

The prices of oil, flour, cement and bread have recorded declines in the region, following the integration of the transport differential, in agreement with all the stakeholders concerned.

“In the department of Kédougou, the retail price of refined palm oil is set at 1,100 CFA francs, while it is set at 1,150 francs in the departments of Saraya and Salémata,” said Abdoulaye Sarr, chief of Kédougou regional trade service.

“For ordinary broken rice, he continued, the retail price is set at 425 francs in the Kédougou department and at 450 francs in the Salémata and Saraya departments.”

“Concerning other consumer products such as granulated sugar,” he continued, “the retail price is 650 francs in the department of Kédougou and 675 francs in the departments of Salémata and Saraya.”

In the Kédougou department, wheat flour will be sold at 425 francs, per kilogram, the bag of improved flour at 18,000 francs and that of baker’s flour at 17,000 francs, he indicated.

In the departments of Saraya and Salémata, he noted, a bag of baker’s flour will be sold at 18,000 francs and that of improved flour at 18,500 francs.

“A kilogram of flour is set at 450 francs and bread at 185 francs per unit,” he said.

Regarding cement, he further reported, the ton is sold at 86,000 francs in the department of Kédougou and 87,000 francs in the departments of Saraya and Salémata.

Abdoulaye Sarr also informed that his department will proceed to display the new prices in a “visible and legible manner” in the points of sale, in accordance with the regulations, inviting traders to respect approved prices.

The CRC meeting was chaired by the regional governor, Mariama Traoré.
