For the first time in its history, the Tour de France will leave Italy in 2024. Riders will have to cover 3,492 kilometers spread over 21 stages, including five with summit finishes, for this 111th edition of the Grande Boucle. Until July 21, a captivating show is expected, with the winner being chosen… in Nice. Exceptionally, the traditional arrival on the Champs-Elysées is abandoned, as Paris prepares to host the Olympic Games five days later, another highly anticipated event. The route of this Tour de France was unveiled at the Palais des Congrès last October.

Who Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic or even the Belgian Remco Evenepoel will win after three weeks of racing? To find out, here are the channels on which to watch one of the biggest global events of the year.

There RTBFon the front page or Tipik, will broadcast all 21 stages of the 2024 Tour de France. The French-speaking public channel will also allow you to follow the Tour de France via its Auvio platform.

France Televisions, via its France 2 and France 3 channels or via its France TV Sport platform, will also broadcast the Tour de France 2024, at maximum from 3 p.m. Broadcasts are also planned before and after the day’s race.

Tour de France 2024: a departure in Florence and an arrival in Nice

With a big start in Italy, in Florence, and an arrival in Nice, the Tour de France will change its habits in 2024. Due to the proximity of the Paris Olympic Games which will begin on July 26, ASO (Amaury Sport Organization), the organizer of the Grande Boucle, has decided to move the traditional finish of the Tour de France on the Champs-Élysées to Nice.

The route for the 2024 edition will extend over 3,492 kilometers and cross four countries: Italy, San Marino, France and Monaco. Among the highlights of this 111th edition are the wine trail stage (the 9th, around Troyes) and the last three days in the Southern Alps. However, riders will need to remain vigilant against the many pitfalls, such as falls, curbs, dangerous descents and failures. Here is the detailed route of the Tour de France.

Note that this is the first time in its history that the Tour de France will start from Italy. And it is no coincidence that this happens in 2024 since it is this year that the 100th anniversary of the first victory of an Italian rider in cycling’s premier event will be celebrated. Ottavio Bottecchia had indeed won the 1924 edition.
