Seychelles recently hosted the prestigious National Day Boxing Cup, a major boxing event which saw the participation of many international teams. Among them, the regional Reunion team, accompanied by coach Raymond GEVIA and referee SC Bachir, shone brightly.
A team ready to fight
The regional team, made up of six talented boxers, demonstrated an exceptional level of skill and determination throughout the competition. Their rigorous preparation and their fighting spirit bore fruit, allowing them to win several distinctions.
Impressive results
Of the six boxers entered, four won gold medals:
• Maoulana ALI
• David MOUCOUVEÏA
• Larry TEVANE
• Matheo ELISABETH, crowned best junior of the tournament
In addition to these superb victories, two other members of the team also reached the podium:
• Vincent ARRIGHI, silver medal
• Mounibe SAID AHMED, silver medal
Matheo ELISABETH: A confirmed hope
Particularly remarkable, Matheo ELISABETH not only won the gold medal, but was also named best junior of the tournament. This young prodigy, trained at the Sainte-Marie English boxing club from a very young age, has developed impressive technique and maturity. Under the watchful eye of coach Raymond Gévia, Matheo was able to adapt and excel.
A collective success
