The Agape restaurant in Limoges (Haute-Vienne) collects prizes. The establishment opened its doors in 2019 and has just obtained, at the start of the week, the Gault & Millau trophy for indoor reception. Because it’s not just the contents of the plate that allow you to have a good time.

It is a know-how that surrounds an exceptional gastronomy. François Durgueil, manager of the restaurant, accompanies the customers in the description of the menu that he explains with patience and attention.

In the restaurant, the customer is pampered: the taste buds are delighted and the table service completes the tasting moment. “For me, it’s like a theatre stage: I open the curtains, it has to be a perfectly oiled play. It goes from making contact, taking orders, continuity of service and saying goodbye to customers, quite simply.”summarizes François Durgeuil.

This play orchestrated by the theater professionals was rewarded with the reception trophy, awarded by the prestigious Gault & Millau guide.

Customers are smiling and their stomachs are happy at every meal. At his table, a regular approves of this distinction: “The boss deserves his reward, so yes! It’s delicious, I know, every day, it’s very good” he marvels.

He is far from being the only one: “We know him, Mr. Owner. It’s a very good restaurant like the Tour d’Argent in Paris,” compare another. “It doesn’t surprise me at all, since we’re used to it,” highlights a last customer.

This prize is in addition to the toque awarded by the guide in 2023 and 2024. Awards that recognize the expertise of a team of five employees.

Limoges therefore completes its list of restaurants rewarded by Gault & Millau, which already includes, among others, the Amphytrion and the Bistrot d’Olivier.
