A 15-year-old schoolgirl claims to have escaped a kidnapping attempt on Thursday near her school in Lescar in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. The police are appealing for witnesses.

The police are taking the matter very seriously. Thursday morning, on the way to school, a 15-year-old student claims to have escaped a kidnapping attempt. According to his story, several people came out of a white van to “try to take him away,” his mother said on social networks.

A motorist, who witnessed the scene, then intervened to prevent the kidnapping and pursue the van, again according to the teenager’s account. This witness has not yet come forward to the police.

Investigators from the family protection brigade therefore launched a call for witnesses, Friday afternoon, to collect the testimony of anyone who witnessed this scene, in Lescar (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on rue Sainte-Catherine .

Any witness is asked to contact the police station on 05 59 98 19 41 or 06 70 28 50 88 during business hours.

The 15-year-old girl filed a complaint for attempted kidnapping.
