He and his wife Nina became parents of twins. «Welcome to the family Nala Rose and Maleo Mauro. I’m extremely excited to show you the world – proud and full of anticipation,” writes the former speed driver on Instagram. The twins came at the start of Carnival on November 11th. to the world.

Caviezel, whose brother Gino is still active in the World Cup, had a serious fall in Lake Louise two years ago in November and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Mauro Caviezel had returned from several injuries before, but not this time.
He announced his resignation on the occasion of the Lauberhorn races in January 2023. He was one of the best speed riders in his career, but was only able to achieve one World Cup victory with the Super-G in Val d’Isère in 2020. Nevertheless, he won the small crystal ball in Super-G in 2019/20.
