For the Llorts, Rodez Aveyron Football is an integral part of the family history. And for son Lucas, in Angoulême since 2023, an additional page will be written on Friday November 15 (8 p.m.), on the occasion of the 7th round of the Coupe de France.
When he took his first breath one day in June 1999, his father Gilles was playing in the blood and gold colors of Rodez. Friday evening, he will face this same club with the Angoulême jersey (N2) on his shoulders, in search of an exploit and qualification for the 8th round of the Coupe de France! This is what is at stake today for Aveyron native Lucas Llort. “The club had offered to go to Tahiti, in particular, so we were hoping for that in the draw. But taking a Ligue 2 is still great. When I saw that we were in the same group as Rodez in draw, I said to myself that it would be good, that it would be fun. I am attached to this city, to this club. It's special for me. Afterwards, there was also Comtal who I would have liked to take. know some players”shares the person concerned.
A match which promises to be also special for Gilles Llort, Raf midfielder between 1995 and 2001 (in D3 and D4), before ending his career in Millau, then in the ranks of Bassin. He will also be present in the aisles of the Camille-Lebon stadium on Friday evening: “ We made sure we could go there for the wink with Rodez. And then, it’s still a poster for Angoulême ! “ The latter also specifying that his heart will obviously lean towards his son's team.
If Lucas maintains natural links with Raf through his father, the left back has also created his own – small – history with the Piton club. And for good reason, the latter evolved in blood and gold in the U14 and U15 categories. “It was a little bit special, because he was at the Castelmaurou pole and he was only there at the weekend”remembers Gilles Llort. Which ultimately did not prevent his son from keeping “ good contacts with the guys who were with him. They enjoy meeting up from time to time.”
Vain professional hope
Before finishing in Rodez, for his last experience in Aveyron to date, Lucas Llort also studied at the Monastère, then at Onet. With a father never far away. “He has always been with me. He was my first coach. He inspired me a lot to become the man and player that I am”he greets. While Gilles tempers: “I think it was harder for him than for me. The educator-dad relationship was certainly complicated. Whereas for me, it was easy. He had the qualities to play, he was motivated, serious.”
Since leaving the department, Lucas Llort has tried to find his way to the highest level, in Montpellier, for five seasons, and in Saint-Étienne, the following three. Without ever really having a chance, especially with the Greens, with whom he had nevertheless signed his first professional contract: “That's a bit where it changed, because I was often with the reserve, I didn't have the chance to play minutes in Ligue 1. At the end of these three years, I was essentially a National level player, I had not played higher and then, I did not find a Ligue 2 or National level club, so I fell back to the amateur level of N2.
At 25, the latter no longer really has any hope of being familiar with the upper echelons of French football. And he accepts it: “I'm still proud of my career. If someone tells me today that I'm going to have a 15-year career in National 2, I'll be very happy. Casually, I live from my passion, even if I don't have not the same salary.” And then, Angoulême also allows him to experience great emotions in the Coupe de France. With a prestigious 7th round against his former club, this Friday!
