Micheline Heppell Côté and Normand Côté, a couple from Montérégie, won a guaranteed prize of $1,000,000 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on October 19.
Highlights
- Micheline and Normand have been playing the lottery together for many years, and it is mainly Micheline who buys the tickets. They are used to choosing their selection at random by drawing six numbers from 1 to 49 from a bag.
- Before going to her bowling game, Micheline went to validate her ticket at a retailer. She saw the employee’s eyes widen, then the latter announced to her that the ticket was a winner of a $1,000,000 prize.
- Not to be fazed, Micheline came home to tell her partner the news and put the ticket in a safe place, then went to the bowling alley as planned. Despite the emotion, she says she played quite well!
- With the million won, Micheline and Normand plan to spoil their family.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Jean Coutu pharmacy at Promenades Montarville, in Boucherville. This retailer will receive a commission of $10,000, equivalent to 1% of the winnings.
