At the time, the young man had been thrown with “his friend Sofiane”, who was also killed on Tuesday, by “a motorist who was driving at high speed” on the same road. The two young people then took a break on the side of the road because the second man “did not feel well”.

“It was a childhood love”

According to BFM TV, Thibault Toutut then remained in a life-threatening condition for two weeks, and three weeks in a coma. He was “finally beginning to see the end of the tunnel”, despairs the father, who wants to clarify: “It was a childhood love”.

Tuesday around 6:30 p.m., a vehicle “with five people on board, left a curve on the opposite lane” and collided with a second vehicle “which was traveling in the opposite direction, normally, on its lane,” specified in the public prosecutor, Frédéric Chevallier.

He was finally starting to see the end of the tunnel.

In this car were five young people, all killed: a 17-year-old girl and four young boys aged 18 to 19, living in Eure-et-Loir. The two passengers of the second vehicle, aged 85 and 80, died instantly, thrown “into the ditch”.

Speed ​​way too high?

Two other people, who were traveling in a third vehicle also hit during the accident, were injured and transported to a hospital center near Chartres.

The open investigation into homicides and unintentional injuries was entrusted to the Lucé gendarmerie company and the Eure-et-Loir departmental road safety squadron.

The Chartres prosecutor specifies that “according to a direct witness”, the speed of the vehicle in which the five young men were traveling was well above the limit in force.
