Saint-Denis: a client burned her legs after a laser hair removal session

In an institute in Saint-Denis, Lucie* suffered burns on her legs after a laser hair removal session. Today she is marked by this experience and is seeking compensation.

The hair removal session took place more than two weeks ago and yet the marks are still very visible. Hair removal with pulsed light did not go well for Lucie*: “I was shocked, I have difficulty understanding what happened. For me there was a problem and I decided to go back to the institute. The conversation was very complicated, they were more in intimidation. They told me that they knew the police, that if I filed a complaint, I was not going to win.”

Despite “intimidation”, Lucie* filed a complaint for “unintentional injuries”, the burns were also noted by a dermatologist.

For its part, the institute in question denies any bad practices, it believes that it was the sun which caused the marks. In fact, it is strongly recommended not to expose yourself to the sun after a session:

« We treated this person’s entire legs and it was only on the back that the burns appeared. If the device had been incorrectly adjusted, she would have had marks everywhere. This is a sun exposure problem. », Estimates the manager.

The institute also defends itself from any pressure on its client.
