Both experienced a double tragedy. Thibaut lost his sister in October 2022 and Delphine lost her daughter, aged 12. Then, a few months later, in February 2024, they faced a second test. Johan Daviet, the father of the family, aged 49, has also died.
Lola's father died of grief. During his Portrait of the week in Seven to Eight a few weeks ago, he explained that he had lost everything. He had separated from his wife and had plunged back into alcohol following the disappearance of Lola.
This Wednesday, November 12, Thibaut then revealed that his father “had plunged back into alcohol the very evening of Lola's disappearance.” He had been weaned for three years, explains Delphine. The body of the young schoolgirl was found a few hours later, in a trunk, near where she lived. “When the police came back to our apartment, he said to me: 'go to your room', but I didn't understand why he said that to me. I went there, there was still the door open, as it's a small apartment in Paris, I could hear everything. I hear the policeman say that they found my sister and the first thing I did, I went into the living room straight to my family, into my father's arms. At that moment, I could see very clearly that he didn't understand. Besides, as he had been drinking, he wanted to go get her, he even asked the police to show my sister's body, to see if it was true because he didn't believe it.” said Lola's brother.
